KINETON VILLAGE PLAN UPDATE - 2011

Village Plan Open Day

 Saturday 15th October 2011
10am - 4pm at the village hall
'Come and make your contribution'

The current village plan was produced in 2003 and will be updated over the next 12 months. This will be an opportunity for everyone in the Kineton parish to voice their views and wishes for the direction of our village; its facilities and services both now and in the future; and the development of a sustainable community.

Following a public meeting late last year, the Parish Council asked a small group of volunteers to form a steering committee to take on this task. After early meetings to get ourselves organised, the steering group plans to arrange consultation for the community in 3 stages, building on the original 2003 plan, picking up the issues raised at the public meeting and also identifying new priorities.

25th May 2011 - Talk to organisations, schools, clubs, societies, businesses etc. to get an early view on current issues of concern and their view of future needs

15th October 2011 - Open Day for the whole village to bring along current issues of concern and gain views on what people want the village to look like in 10 years time

Autumn 2011 - Issue a short questionnaire to the whole community: all households, businesses, clubs, organisations etc., to respond to the key issues raised at the Open day

Spring 2012 - Use responses from the questionnaire to identify priorities and update the village plan

We have decided to group our activity into 6 areas to help identify new priorities for the village plan.

• Children and Young People
• Economy and Employment
• Environment and Climate Change
• Healthier Communities and Older People
• Safer Communities
• Stronger Communities - Services, facilities etc.

Stratford District Council has made a clear statement that parish plans are given considerable weight in the determination of planning applications and as an important source of local information. By updating our village plan, we will harness all our opinions into one voice and a format that will be listened to and respected by the authorities.
We will be publicising events shortly, but in the meantime if you want to contact us for more information or with offers of help to organise the consultation, please talk to any of the steering committee or contact us on kineton2022@yahoo.co.uk
