MESSAGE .................NHW SA Distraction Burglaries in Kineton and Wellesbourne INC 429 & 448 of 19 January We would like to make you aware that elderly residents in Castle Road, Kineton and Willow Drive, Wellesbourne were targetted by Distraction Burglars during the early evening of Friday 19 January.
At 6.30pm 2 white males, in their 20's, wearing casual clothing and one with an Irish accent called at the home of an elderly resident of Castle Road claiming that a washing machine had been fitted in the area and that they needed to flush the mains. Both males entered the property and one ran the water whilst the other went through cupboards and made off with cash from the residents wallet.
Also at 6.30pm a white male in his 40's and wearing a brown suit with a water board badge on the front, claimed to need to check the water at a home in Willow Drive, Wellesbourne and gained entry to the property. Once inside he went through the kitchen drawers and made off with a quantity of cash.
If you believe that you have information relating to either of these incidents please contact Stratford Police. Please continue to be vigilent and warn elderly neighbours not to let anyone they are not expecting to enter their home in order to prevent them from becoming a victim of this very distressing crime..
